Overwelmed

Yes that's how I feel. But, I do know God's doing great and big things and I'm feeling it everyday. So much is going on and happening and it's hard to not get to update as much as I desire. I'm sorry I'm doing m best. Even worse, as my network grows and the hours of 'work' on the project never end, it's less time to get back to you lovely family and friends of mine. But I'm trying, and your love and encouragment is incredible!
Mom, Dad, kale, so great to hear you've met up with Kimberly and not even on purpose running into her at the Blazers game mom and kale :)
Dad said it was so wonderful to get to meet Kimberly who's here working with the prostitution and trafficking and completely inspires me and help me get here, incredible to think she's only 21 and doing all this. Yes, so my dad said it was great to meet her, and felt he was almost there with me hearing about me through her and what we're all getting into over here. So thank you so much Kimberley for your time. I sure hope more churches, and people get to hear from her while she's there. Valuable resource and inspiring.
Wow, so what's been goin on? Endless. I'll say just what recently has happened while fresh in the mind.
I just finished a meeting here on the base, in my hub of a room where I call my 'office' and he shared with Cristian and I for a few hours what to do basically. He's Elrico from government who works on all these different projects and super happy we got to finally meet while he was here in town.
He listened to us, just like great SAfricans do before they talk business, wanted to knwo all about Cristian and I and hear where we're at and wanting to go forward. I feel so unequipped but he helped a lot to restore the vision.
Elrico basically loves this 'crazy' idea and says that's what he loves about this challenge and how that's possibly what's going to trigger it to work. He walked us through these certain steps to go through and being a follower of God himself he really cleared a vision of listening to God and putting the Holy Spirit first and foremost.
His dreams of how to enact this campaign as short of time we have, were helpful, but still hard with a team of barely 5 on board and he says you HAVE to have locals, local SAfricans on board to push this. ESPECIALLY because in phase 2, when we get going after the world cup and evaluate what worked and what didn't, we then move forward to push abstinence campaign including the 'alternative' youth need which will be with the famous Bennie McCarthy and his academy cape town is starting up. We get kids and girls off the streets and doing things, ie, soccer after the HUGE world cup which will boost the craze even more, and then have the government pay and sponsor for tournaments and tshirts and what not to make this 'alternative' to sex, for this youth and kids to do something else, WITH coaches who are tough and inspired to be the stable value these kids need in their life. ROLE MODELS! Christian presence over the youth and pushing the value of abstinence in their lives. Great ELrico!
He even said, that after these movers and 'shakers' he has to possibly get on board after the 14th when their film project is done nationwide, they'll be free to work with us, BUT he said I can't promise anything so don't get your hopes up yet. PLEASE PRAY!
So, it was great to have that and this support and he's going to be in touch and meeting wtih us next time he's in town. What an inspiration!
I swam earlier, and have so much to get done! I need to finish this dang 'strategic business plan' of who we are as our heart for our website, proposals, etc., that great Tobi from Beautiful Gate has given us as a guide and will meet with us again Monday to go over. IT's not been fun sitting down and pitching this thing out with Prosper Cristian and I knowing they as well as I dont' know what to say or how to do these things, especially specifically, but we HAVE To have this.
I also need to get things ready to go on website to present as our start.
So incredible and yet confusing thing happened Friday.
I was walking to Fish Hoek in the morning to go and pick up my chest xrays for visa paperwork, and to get form for my, YES insurance paid for' visit to see a knee specialist this coming Wednesday. On my walk around 9am, I get this phone call. It's this guy Jeff I met from a friend here in Muizenberg and he was like hey I saw you walking come and see what we're doing for the website. I didn't recognize the # and I was completely confused. I though God what is this about and I have no idea who this guy is? I get into town, call the nuber back and I end up going into this office of Africa Renewal. I recognized a happy Jeff as soon as he greated me and rushed me upstairs saying, we have a devotional I'd love yout omeet our team. I was like, what is going on, and do I have time for this because I'm needing to get back to my team by 10:30 to work on business plan. But I thought, God's moving GO with it.
So I get up the stairs and meet 3 other guys sitting aroudn a table and Bible in this nice office. They welcomed me and asked abotu this campaign etc. I let my heart out again as fast as I could thinking perhaps God's using me here. AFterwards they said that's awesome and this guy Ben here does graphics and Jeff can help you. I stayed for devotion, had great chat, then Jeff and Ben showed me what their business was all about.
Africa Renewal is in thier 2nd year and team refugees skills for a future job like graphic design, basket weaving and other topics. IT's wonderful I think!
So a room ful of computers they lead me into and Ben basically said, I'm the 'teacher' and I'm sort of the head of Jeff and I will allow him, on his own time to work on your website and graphic. Basically this professional is going to let me have one of his students and Jeff is TOTALLY excited! THey even explained this simple process of the website they work from, basically saying to me that anyone can learn to have access to their website when we teach them to update it etc. SOOOo going to meet with Ian and Jeff tomorrow after church to get Ianand Jeff on board together. Sinc up our website to get things going! Thank God!
The hard part was Ben's explanation of how important and HARD a logo 'image' is because it makes everything and it's not easy to create. Man oh man I feel like so many ups and downs and obstacles and it's just nuts the things that need to happen and I feel like so much is moving and networks and contacts and passions for this are coming out, but I'm completely uncapable of handling it ALL especially with my small team of unprofessionals as well. God will come through we just keep our focus on him.
So in the end the detour of my morning was totally worth it, then I ran into another girl from YWAM at the xrays Rochelle, is lovely and has these 2 major contacts for media here as well so she gave me those too.
I rushed back and even saw our webman Alain from media village on the train and caught up with him. He started the website, but can't give the time needed to devote to what we want to do.
ALSO, I forgot,
through that meeting I had this idea of how we can have people work on our website as interactive and also be held accountable to our 'abstain' declaration. SO, this is how it works, FREE...and Elrico said not even just the internet but especially for SA we use SMS (text) messages for people, as well as our website, to register, maybe even creat facebook group, who are all signing up and declaring they are going to join the abstinence campaign and remain abstinent for the cause and for our world during the month of the WC 2010.
We then use their text and registration to had this chart up on our website. We count it all up, we even recap the new registrars every week. We link in with CCFM an dhave them have an interactive talk show to see how the stats and registrations are going to talk about and promote. This can even show which countries, which part of countries, whcih age groups, etc. are all choosing to join the campaign.
Oh, man I'm sorry but my mind is racked, gotta get a lil sleep maybe, grab some food and come back here on base to do more work.
