Oh Lord keep doing your thing
Hello all, I guess right about now Kimberly is meeting my lovely dad and Steve to discuss what she does and if she can speak in the church about justice acts? I hope all goes well, saying a good hello from me and what I've been up to. Heaps to fill in on.
Well, I'll go backwards because it's easier for me to remember. I can't even believe it's almost February! YIKES! Finished writing questions out and vision for our meeting with this guy Tobi who's going to consult with us. Apparently he helps consult for other non profit organizations for years. A stone's throw away too! We were going to meet with our video man Aibe, but he wasn't home til late from work. It's ok, cause him, our new webmaster Iain, aka, superman, Cristian, Prosper and I are going to meet Wednesday to get finalized web content and we can work on video as a team!
I talked with insurance today, I can get my tiny claim back from all that chaos with the wrong doctor and communication with insurance. AG! So mad about all this confusion and money stealer's I feel. Oh well, I can get my lousy 400 back from Doc Chouler's office apparently, YEAH when I get time to get out there. I then called new doctor in fish hoek, whom I'l see tomorrow at noon for a check up for my visa paperwork, and then have him look at my knee and xray for options advice for surgery. We'll see how that goes. Prayers are always welcome.
I sorted out also my visa extension, since I"m a very special case, we'll call it that, I am extending myself as a student. So shouldn't be too much work, just new medical and xray, and extend, which means buy longer insurance. Still also getting paperwork together to apply to renew my driver's license, which was stolen. So, yes logistics area pain!
Started out this morning with prayer of intercession like our base always does at 8am every monday morning. We prayed for Haiti this morning. Was really cool how we all did it in worship, with constant singing and praying altogether. They are in God's hope and mercy.
Ok sorry very random but just speaking with Grace. Oh man she's inspiring me to further what this message is from God for the campaign. Asking everyone to abstain for a higher cause. NOT JUST for prevention of HIV and the trafficking market, but more than that. A deeper value that is the solution. This inner value of valuing yourself and choosing to then value others. It's rooted and the more we all get on this bandwagon, the better our world will be.
She was telling me how she walked by this poor street kid who she knows his story of how he was given drugs by a drug dealer for free, got the boys hooked, and now has them sell for him. She walked by him and he yelled out, like they do, "hey lady" and she responded with hello. And he asked if she was lonely, basically saying would you like me to help walk you home? She said for some reason the holy spirit spoke to her and put in her heart the fact that this boy was sexually used as a child. This poor street boy. She said she just broke. Then she wanted to get really pissed off at the man who did this to that boy, and then God was telling her how even he loves that man. God created both. That man probably was raised in a hurtful home, abused himself, probably several factors. So who's fault is it? Where's the logic? Where's the hope?
It's within. It starts with ourselves finding value and love for ourselves because we're special and unique even if things are completely devastating. Finding hope and peace to project to others because of this respect and desire for something greater than our inner selfishness. It's selflessness.
This message of abstinence isn't going to change the world because we dont' have sex, it's going to change the world because we're going to take a look at ourselves and say that we desire to value ourselves so we can value our neighbor. We want to get this 'cool' thing to start a ripple effect of turning everyone into having this desire to make a stand. When it's cool to abstain from sex until marriage and have this mutual respect creates an easier life. We then take pride in this magic we're believing in that CAN happen. It seems so far and archaic, but it's here and real and forever will be here.
It applies to everyone. Christian or not. Catholic or not. Buddhist. Would you rather your daughter or son having sex with 1 partner, wife, or many?
Refraining from having sex from our world that wants our desires met immediately, and from doing whatever we feel will make us happy and enjoy at that moment in time, it's NOW time to make it the trend to value each other as yourself. Quit looking for fixes, but look for how you can serve one another. It's beautiful!
God's done such an incredible job at showing me and my team this journey to this final message of complete abstinence for the month fo the world cup, to create a true revolution for everyone! Practice abstinence for your wife. Practice abstinence for your girlfriend. Practice abstinence for the children who are being abused because of sex.
alright enough preaching, ohhhhh I get excited!
Went to concert yesterday in Kirstenbosch and it again was beautiful with the setting of the mountains and the city in those botanical gardens. Went with my new neighbors Yael and friends. Loved it! Glad I decided to go than stay back and get 'work' done. Feeling like I'm not ever doing enough or accomplishing enough!
Tomorrow my roomate Lydia and I are also having people over for Cheese, Chocolate and wine we said. :) We askied Yael and friends to bring over guitars to jam. Should be great time.
Oh gosh, I need to do laundry, clean, write proposal, here is my draft of 'mission' statement,
what do you think?
Campaigning to endorse abstinence during the Soccer World Cup with the aim to fight and bring light to the battle against HIV/AIDS, human trafficking and prostitution. Reinstating this archaic practice enables human kind to bring back the value of both one another and oneself. With a springboard of success, South Africa can then pilot a strategic plan nationwide of abstinence to be administered beyond 2010.
