Love says you're willing to lay down your freedom.
What is true freedom? Willing to give it up. Am I willing to give up working out or am I a slave to it? This is really hard for me. Honestly. I'm dealing with this right now with soccer. Am I a slave to it? I think it's been close to a yes, but I'm working on killing it. My dreams to make sure it's not owning me. I then have the option to give it up if that's what perhaps God wants now or someday. This shows to me and Him that I'm not a slave to it.
For others it could be a slave to sex, or drugs, or drinking, or weight loss, or watching sports, etc.
Give up your rights for teh sake of the community is true freedom. If you're not willing to give them up, you're not free!
There's truly 1 rule in this world: Love God. Love your neighbor. If you feel questions about life, ask if you're loving God and Loving your neighbor.
Galations 5:16..If you're led by teh spirit then yo'ure not under the law.
Fruits of the spirit (love) need these things to help grow. Fruit trees - produce naturally. Don't try. A life lived by the spirit, will "naturally" produce fruit.
I MUST trust God to live this Christian life. Every moment. Everyday. We can't do it alone.
You have a part in sanctification and that is to... TRUST GOD.
