Why did God create us?
To be Relational. God desires to be in a relationship with us. This was something I learned in my lectures this week with Jon Justine. Proof of this is an example of Jesus and the turning water into wine. Mary (the wedding planner) asked Jesus to help get more wine because they were all our at the huge and magnificent wedding. Believing her loving son will do it, she left him with the task and told the servants (nameless) to do whatever this boy tells them to.
So, Jesus probably thought, oh mother. And decided to help the servants enjoy their time. He asked them to fill the STONE (real heavy) jars with something like 10 gallons of water or something large of that amount. Basically saying, to go fetch that water and all those already heavy stone jars was a difficult task.
The servants of the wedding party did so, and after all that he then said, ok now take a cup to th emaster of the party. The master of ceremonies at this meeting was a big deal. The best wine was usually served first, well with this cup of water...when it reached the head of the party it turned into not only wine, but the best wine that could have been served.
Jesus used these servants to be a part of his masterful giving plans. This relational miracle showed so much of who his character really is. The God that made the mountains and the sea, has a sense of humor and wants to be with US! All of US!
Today is Friday and I know that I've already gotten up early to do my stairs running with Justine (from Canada) and then after stairs some of the SBS girls did a total ab workout together in one of the classes after. I have to get going to small group meeting, but I think later I'll check out the pool with some others and then haven't figured out what's going on for Friday night.
I would like to tell all that we're having a National prayer day for all the YWAMs in the world. It starts from 6 tonight til 6 tomorrow night. Constant prayer throughout the day for our nations! Please take part at some point to pray and also thank the Lord for all he has done. It should be pretty cool to have this internet call set up to speak with I think a few of the bases around the world.
A few of us are going to be fasting for the day, I think I will just eat fruits for my fast. I will tell more of what I learned this week in lectures.
Oh before I forget, we've been appointed work duties. I'm on dinner clean-up. Been doing it everyday. Also been appointed our outreach here in the community. I think I'll be helping with this after school program. Stil figuring it out. I also signed up for the soccer ministry in the townships with Gabriel. We'll see what transpires.
Have a great day!
