Remembering the gift
I wake up to read 2 Corinthians. God speaks to me of so many parallels to the project. It's all about his love. The grciousness of my earnestness to desire to give. But remember why.
2 Corinthians 8-9
"-they gave as uch as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing inthis service to the Lord's people. And they went beyond our expectations; having given themselves first of all to the Lord, they gave themselves by the will of God also to us." ..."-see that you also excel in this grace of giving."
Lydia explained a bit of background this morning, where Paul is speaking to this church he started. The people in the church he was encouraging. He told them to remember the gift and to continue to seek telling about the gift of God to others. For even Paul's great man Titus was even encouraged by this. From some of my teachings here, I think the Corinthians, especially in their city and time weren't even people who were of great value. They had been a people ina city of absolute sin and disgust! These people were still giving ALL they had and more because of their faithfullness desire for the joy God's provided them.
"-Now finish the work, so that your eager wilingness to do it may be matched by your completiong of it, according to your means. For if the wilingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have."
What was I confessing last night? That I was in greed along with more in this very own city and country of South Africa. I don't 'have' enough. I need more! Complete greed and not humbling myself in thanksgiving for what I do have! And what is to come. For he keeps saying, who was and is and is to come. Our father.
Now, Paul keeps on about the equality of it all.
"Our desire is not that others might be relieved while your are hard pressed, but that there might be equality. At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. The goal is equality, as it is writen: 'The one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little.'" This is like this project here I'm pushign for SA. I have nothing. I'm trying to raise up this awareness because I have a love and compassion for these poeple and a change that comes from my inner desire of havinga relationship with God myself. I know they need to know and need to walk with him as I do. It gives me hope, faith, joy.
Therefore, right now while I feel complete helpless with not much, (website and video and a HUGE vision with networking skills in a foreign country where I don't even have anything but my 2 feet to get around and not a cent for my labor except the strait-up blessings from God which comes from you. The poeple out there. The servant-hearted people in the church, those effected by another servant me, to allow me to continue. Thank you.
BUT soon, God is going to change the sides. He will show favor in his desire. The equality of what he wants upon the poeple in this world, especially in this nation of South AFrica is to heal them of their pain through Him. Finding that value and love in themselves comes from him. This heals the HIV, prostituion and trafficking. This makes change. Then they will inspire and help me to barge forward. Jesus is so glorious!
Hear more,
"Therefore show these men the proof of your love and the reason for our pride in you, so that the churches can see it."
"For I know your eagerness to help, and I have been boasting about it to the Macedonians, telling them that since last year you in Achaia were ready to give; and your enthusiam has stirred most of them to action."
I so felt through all of this that it's what the goal of this campaign, and mission is turning into.
The World Cup, with the eyes of the world watching, can see SA's desire to encourage abstinence nationwide for change, for help, for a purpose within each other aiming at helping show the desire of what's right morally that comes from the church body. Rising up our sleeping giant and having the wings of the government, leaders, celebrities, having them as role-models to show the destitute and ones who are ceasing to get out of their slump. This could be poor, sick, addictions, and much more, but showing this value in ourselves as ONE, unifying the country under 1 message. This change and statement of declaring it and after the World Cup, really holds true to the world to say, ok, let's see how this goes. I challenege you! I challene you, you country of LARGE statistics in the sub sahara africa, if you can! BRING IT ON WE"LL SAY!!!
Generosity Encouraged
"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously wil also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will about in every good work. As it is written, 'They have scattered abroad their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.'"
"Now he who supplies see to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of see and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving of God."
Yes yes we will be giving so generously here in this nation, a nation of poverty because we'll have God on our side. With him in our lives, there's always more and more to give. Jesus gave us his body, his life. His bread of his body...there's always more, even when we, I don't have enough. More and moreof you Jesus. With his blood we will never be thirsty. We have that strength now to be right next to our Father above. Oh what joy!
Let's finish this...
"This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thans to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, people will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for you rgenerosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!"
This has been my encouragement this morning. thank you Corinthians! Thank you father.
The work and efforts of giving, God sees. He sees my/our obedience. He hears our/my cries. This country will do the same. If they already know the father, their going to reconnect in this revival that's stirring up. I know it. God's doing this. I am not.
Change is happening. Change will happen. Have faith. Have hope. Have love.
All you need is love
