Saw the doc yesterday...
The great Dr. Chueller helped me out yesterday. I took the lovely train to the doc that is always referred to for YWAMers because he knows us well. I had an x ray to first check out my knee. Then he said nothing wrong with any bones. He said there's a great chance it's your meniscis, which is also cartliage he said, is torn. So we have 2 options: have an injection to help heal, if it does help, OR have surgery to clean out the cartliage (which is what I believe they do, not really sure). I asked how long the surgery would take to heal, and he said over 3 months. I freaked a bit saying I leave for outreach mid December and even not able to run will be hard. So, I asked is there anything else it could possibly be?
He had me lay down and he did all these different checks, checked for pain, and there was a little discomfort on the outside joint, but when he moved to the outside of my knee to the ITB area, I was skirming like a kid. He was like , uh huh that's where the real pain is. It's very possible it's the bands on the outside I think he meant swollen or something, so he said first we can just do this: for 2 weeks take these strong anti inflammatories and the Voltarin gel to see if that helps heal up the ITB if that is it. Come back in 2 weeks.
So, he said I can still swim and walk, like I do, even get the gym and cycle and so I was ok with that. I paid about 200 rand for the perscription and cream, so no I still didn't try and get a phone yet since I paid that. In the future, perhaps I will get a phone.
So thank you for your continued prayers and support, I love it and really I'm doing well physically. This place is just unbelievably beautiful. I hope to ge tmore pictures, maybe even a video if lucky.
Love you! Have a great day!
