We did this graph with Chris Monday night to study and learn about the HS.
Holy Spirit is God
we looked then into Who, How, WHere and When?
With the scriptures of Acts 2:1-13, 37-41, 4:23-31, 9:17-22 and 10:44-47. We disected them with this graph.
What I learned:
All salvation, Holy Spirit comes to live inside of me... you
Purposes of the Holy Spirit:
1) Holy Spirit is God
2) Spirit of God (HS) lives inside @ Salvation (when you ask Jesus into your heart)
3) Down paymen of future promises Joes 2:28-30
4) Holy Spirit's for ALL Acts 8:16, 19:2 These versus show that the people didn't even know about the HS
5) Main function
-Boldness to Share
-Receive Power (empowering) gives the ability. The HS is the source of strength!
Basically there is no plain formula to the Holy Spirit. You can't package the HS into saying it's this feeling or language and you only get it at this time and not at others. The HS comes/moves in whatever way spirit moves.
The best results of what we learned about the HS is that is brings about unity! It's a unifying force! It's outward focused. Spreading Gospel with boldness!
Picture the 12 disciples: Their receiving the HS from Jesus, spread Christianity like rapid fire throughout the land!
Oh Holy Spirit, give me wind in my sails!
