November 2nd, touches bases

I've written heaps from my notes, and I need to go again, but will finish more later.
Till then quick recap on me and life here.
Sun's out and been amazing! I'm swimming and walking still because my knee isn't right. I'm seeing a physio tomorrow recommended by AIS. I've had many prayers, but I do believe it's something to be said to me about being at peace and rest and giving my dreams to God. Give him what is not mine and perhaps He'll give them back, but what He will give me is His will. I know He loves me and He's using this time to show me how great that love is I don't understand. So, I've been at peace about my knee and accepting this time to pray and look into more than that 'tool' I've been using. I am a woman of God. I am not a woman of sports and fitness. Everything dies, except the Lord.
Going to swim, miss you all so so dearly! Way to go U of O and Blazers! Happy belated Halloween!

Letter of support

This time I’ve followed my heart to South Africa to be a servant for the Lord. In whatever magical way that may be, I will do so with the wonderful program, Youth With A Mission.
Ever since I did a mission trip to Mississippi back in 07’ I’ve been inspired to continue to serve. I've been dreaming about an adventure as well as being at the 2010 World Cup.
With the support of YWAM I will be embracing the country by first going through YWAM’s DTS, (Discipleship Training School). DTS is a pre-requisite to being a missionary through WYAM when completed.
The first 3 months are going to be at the base in Muizenberg. There my ‘team’ who have applied for the school around the world, challenging ourselves to be fully ready to serve in whatever calling we gravitate towards.
Choosing a country from the options YWAM provides, our team will then go serve there for the last 3 months. At the end of our mission, we debrief back in Muizenberg.
With the largest sporting event in the world going on in SA, I can just feel that it’s a place God will do wondrous things. With the beautiful game I know many youth especially youth, can be reached with endless opportunities.
I’ve traveled, met many people, gained work ethic, responsibility, confidence, and how to be a part of something larger than myself from soccer. Now I feel if there’s anyway I can give this gift in a place in such a time as this, then that would be a dream for me!
Not only do I hope and plan that YWAM will plug me into ties with the World Cup but also be able to help me network enough to help anyone else who may be thinking of attending the World Cup and or serving during the event.
I thank you from the very bottom of my heart for thoughts, prayers and financial support to help make a change.

For the remaining 3 months, I still need to raise funds of around R12,000. I calculated my rent/utilities R1,500, food R1,200, internet/phone, R400, and extras (train travel, toiletries, hair cut, etc.) R1000. So about R4,000 a month with 3 months of May, June and July left I need around R12,000. This equates to around $1,700 for 3 months longer here in South Africa. God always supplies and never fails so I must have faith. I could possibly live on more or less so I am trying to not stress about this. Please keep me in your prayers. There are also so many other YWAMers around me who struggle for schools, accommodation, even a day’s train ticket. Please keep them in your prayers to continue in the steps God has called them.
