Thursday, Day 4
I lose my words to describe all and all events because it's day to day and minute to minute I encounter life here. Just as you would where you're based, but I'm trying to do the task of bringing those far, near.
The DTS team is powerful. We all can feel that we'll definately be doing some great things. Perhaps asap. We're still in the beginning stages of orientation week; but, I'm not the only one feeling we have been called here to grow both alone and together.
I'll tell you about the scene here. We're in this old hotel as our 'base' for YWAM Muizenberg. It's beautiful but old. There's 3 floors and the roof I've yet to see. We have a small open courtyard with a bit of tile from the kitchen out and then there's a small pool. (Yes very cold, and brave Christine my roomate jumped in this morning because our water was turned off last night. Someone came in at 2:30am and tried to steel the copper from the pipes and were caught. So getting fixed.)
The weather's been like between 50 and I'd say 70 but the wind is such a factor it's crazy! Yes much more wind than Wellington at times. In fact trying to play a small match of football yesterday, was nuts! Kick the ball and run for 5 minutes to go retrieve it. I hear it will die down.
The ocean isn't warm. I think I mentioned before that I tried surfing my very first morning with Juce and we barely lasted 20 minutes because of the wind and then I had no boots with my body suite so my feet began to turn white. Luckily we have a bath in our room. Oh that's another thing, we have bunk beds in most rooms.
Our school of DTS has been fluctuating with meetings since it's purely a team deal. We meet usually at half 8 then break and class again, or worship, or even intercessory prayer which we learned a bit about today, then lunch and usually a bible study or meeting in evenings I guess.
Yes already networking (that goes out to you Jeff). I've met the main man last night whom I've been hearing I need to meet him from everyone already on base. Gabriel is in charge of YWAM and the World Cup. He organized YWAM's interaction during the
