His Sheep Hear His Voice
John 10:14-16, 27
Where has God called me? Yes God has called you is the more important part. Waslking in His will. It's much simpler than we make it out to be.
A few safegaurds in recognizing his will:
-Does it go according to His Word? (aka The Bible)
-Does it glorify Jesus and bring you closer to Him?
-Does it witness with your spirit?
-Does it witness with others (who are walking with Jesus)
We then looked into the terms Condemnation vs Conviction. Condemnation is Good. This is rom the Holy Spirit. It's purpose is to set you free and is specific and practical. Conviction is bad. It is from the devil, seeks to harm and confuse you. It's very general and non-specific.
The greatest quote I think I kept hearing all lecture was this:
"God's ability to speak is GREATER than our inability to hear him."
-Love Him. Live with Him daily. We dont' stop. We just keep going. Quit trying to figure it all out. This message keeps ringing over and over in me right now, as I look back at these notes even from a week ago. I'm so freakin impatient and want things to go go go! I want to see things move in action not just words. Therefore my idea of doing God's will is like me saying ok Lord, and snapping my fingers. That's not at all how it works and how I'm even going to hear his answers.
In addition, the #1 thing that has to come in order to get an understanding and relationship with God, is this: You can't share His love if you don't 1st love yourself. I struggled with this for many years growing up and still do today. Yes we are to put ourselves behind others. To serve and be less-than. However if we don't find value in ourselves (which is a creation specifically from Him the Father) then we can never find value in others (who are also creations specifically from Him the Father).
So do I want to send out his Message of Love and bring others to understand this Love I have found in serving God, I can't even think of sharing this unless I first KNOW he loves even Me. If I didn't, how could I tell others what I don't fully believe to be true for myself?
God says this: I love you because you are you. I love you because you are mine.
Oh there is no God like our God! Don't be content to jus tbe a believer. GROW! Be seeds (DTS is what we keep hearing and having visions about in our team).
To counter this for a moment, John did say please read about other things. Be Wise, so you can talk with others about Jesus. This will draw you to become more like God. I completely loved this in the fact that if I know something about construction that Jeff taught me, then when I'm talking to a contractor or carpenter, I won't be completely lost and therefore we 'hit it off' with a conversation that began with pure knowledge. That's a door that opened that wasn't here before.
