His love's alive
I'm sorry to not give much intro to details, but I've been in tears already this morning for so long with my team. No not of sorrow, but of so much joy! We had our first day of our DTS team worship, and WOW, it's only 10:30 in the morning and it was intense!
I just felt so much God and his aliveness in that shanty room! Hearing, feeling, and embracing each other from all across the world in our TEAM together.
My team of 28 on our DTS are from everywhere! Chloe and Tim arrived last night, better late than never. They missed their flight from the UK because their permits were 45 minutes late. God is so good to still bring the couple here late last night. What an addition already! There are now 2 married couples in our team, and 1 married couple of staff assisting our leader Paul.
It's only day 3, and in my prayers as the rest during our learning and meeting one another and the scoop of what the Dicipleship Training School is for YWAM.
We're in this little building, old and yet beautifully unique (we have the best room my roomies Pudu, Christine, Josephine and I because it's so spacious and they laughed at the "American" with 3 bags of luggage so luckily we have a huge closet. AND best of all a bathtub with our shower. Yes window's being fixed so ti's been freezing!)
Been running every morning with our DTS Running team, (yes we're going to make shirts). Yet the sunrise is the most amazing thing I've ever seen on this prestine beach!
The crime and danger is high, so I'd have taken pictures already, yet it's dangerous to leave the base with anything of value, so I struggle to take my camera out yet.
Anyways, that was a real brief on the start.
This base has a few surrounding buildings aka, houses, that have like the registrar, staff, small classrooms etc. There are many schools intertwined within the Muizenberg base. There's our DTS, there's a BSB (Biblical Studies School), a Church building school, an intercessory of prayer, some ministry groups, that I still can't quite grasp what they all are. Also a team from Perth Australia are doing part of their DTS here for a few weeks and then also taking off for their 2nd part of their DTS (the outreach) and leaving in a few weeks. They're splitting into different teams going to places like Malysia, Thailand, etc., Which by the way, another thing to pray for, WHERE TO GO FOR OUR OUTREACH.YWAM is an apostolic-discipling community and training program. So it's about hearing God and going with his word and direction for our calling as a WHOLE. This includes everyone from the stuents, to leaders, to staff, ALL!
So we've heard ideas of Thailand or maybe a hint of word towards Kenya. Please be praying for the Lord to speak to us.
I feel too much to say, but to debrief from my many thoughts as of this morning and few days, I'd been overwelmed with knowing God.
I've known God, but to be in a community and safe environment that promotes and moves with passion and loves visionaries. Which if you know me, is ALL about visions and dreams. Jeff, yes I try and stay focused ;)
However, with so many just saying let's hear God. Let's pray to this personal friend of ours to just reveal to us all, as a group and individually.
I have been asking for God to be that real and that close to me to begin to hear him. His presence is so near it's beginning to actually excite and yet scare me.
I've this overwelming sense that I have so much I can and want to do, but direction will have to be from him in time.
I've played a bit of football once with the men, and had nothing but praise (luckily) and I've been in small contac with AIS (Ambassadors in Sport) who I guess have a team in teh women's national league here in South Africa, and get this...began first day of training yesterday! I know I know I'm here for DTS, but I feel I may be able to outreach and minister and would love to better my skills. So I must call this English coach today to look into going to a training. It's 20 min away, so transportation plus time away from our schooling is my issues IF i'm even good enough to play. Please pray for me.

You go girl!!
ReplyDeleteSounds amazing! Other YWAM supporters may want to know about a simple thing everyone can do each day to help YWAM. Just use YWAM's yahoo search page and they earn money. Really that simple, but try for yourself at http://www.freelanthropy.com/search/ywam -- just use it instead of google and we're helping YWAM.
